I somehow have never watched Josie and the Pussycats despite liking so many people in it! I'm gonna have to fix that. And Bad Sisters sounds like a really interesting show.
Read this at 6 am then immediately put on this cinematic masterpiece while I did my exercise hula hoop and wow. I completely forgot about the comedic WORK Seth Green is doing off the bat?? Including starring directly into the barrel and consequently, into my soul. Anyway thank you as always for your journalism!!!!!
can I just say that watching this while hula hooping elevates the entire experience! Seth Green is honestly a genius and what he does with even his small part in this movie shows it!
This is very timely, because I shocked my husband on Monday by admitting I've never seen Josie and the Pussycats. I don't know why! I saw every other teen movie of the era! Gives me an air of mystery, I guess. (We definitely need you to do TTYD! next!!)
another wonderful newsletter, thanks! YES to Bad Sisters. Five flawed but perfect women. (Season 2 is pretty good too.) As a geezer, I always have subtitles on, and in a case like this it was quite useful. Lovely accents but... wut? Same for the fabulous film Happy Go Lucky, though different UK region. I highly recommend Behind Her Eyes for a great performance by Bono's daughter. Really cool modern day goth plot.
Our local Unity church sponsored don Miguel Ruiz to come speak while on tour about 25 years ago, because that book was right up our alley. Sadly, all I remember is that he spoke in a heavily accented monotone that was a literal sleeper. Plus there was a 3" palmetto bug casually walking around on the brightly lit wall behind him the whole time, which I was NOT supposed to be focused on, but... lol. But anyway I dug the book and often remember one or another of the 4 as life throws lemons at me.
It's been a zillion years since That Thing You Do, so let us know if you'll do one of your excellent deep dive recaps so I can rewatch it first?

That Thing You Do is always worth watching in my opinion! I love that movie.
