Ah, I JUST NOW finished H2EaLS so was able to come back to this substack episode. First of all, the book was amazing, well worth the hype, and secondly… I was right to wait. I am one of those 5% of readers who really enjoyed Verity, and I actually find it a little insulting that the HEA ingredient is guaranteed or you’re excluded from the club. In a sense, anything with the Romance category slapped upon it has an implied spoiler. I get why, but I don’t like it. There was an off chance that that’s what you were alluding to when you started describing the punch it delivered, and I wanted to avoid any spoiler.
Anyway, reading your 10 questions is a perfect way to help my book hangover! Did you see her recent Insta post where she posed naked (not like Juliet)? Between the pictures and her writing, I’m kinda getting a mad crush! Not that I would ever do anything about it — I’m too old, happily monogamous, and insignificant— but it brings me joy seeing any woman so comfortable in her skin, especially a woc. She fairly crackles with sensuality. It’s not just her terrific writing, and that’s a beautiful thing.
