Okay but now I want to know EXACTLY WHAT PART of Life Itself Chris uses as his walk-up...just the beat? The beat plus tambourine? This is probably too specific but I have become accidentally obsessed
I cannot resist getting sucked into Friends reruns when I stumble across them on TV. I especially love it when I remember only the main plot but can't recall the secondary plot(s) at all; it's almost like watching the episode anew!
Eeek!! I can't believe there's less than 2 months until it's published. I love reading books when they're set to occur so I'm really excited to read this while the Cardinals play in the background :)
Going in I initially thought that not wearing gloves in baseball wasn’t really an option because of safety and the potential of a wild pitch doing serious harm so I totally learned something new and realized how this specific detail really excitedly adds character which also got me wondering what is Chris’ opinion on bat flips after a home run and other unwritten rules in baseball.
I also read Kate’s The Other Side of Disappearing recently and was truly held captive by her storytelling, and being in the revision stage for my draft I will basically seek out anything she has to say on craft so will def check that out!
Chris has a specific little speech about unwritten rules actually ;) Good luck with your revision and if you let anything Kate says guide you, you will be GOLDEN!
I missed Kate Clayborn's newsletter when it came in, and my friend texted me that I had to read it. When I got to your name, I was like, "I know her!" (I don't, but I'm from Florida, so practically).
This was such a good and inspiring newsletter and I'm even more excited for your book! And the Glass Animals song is fire. Do you listen to Django Django? They have a similar vibe and their whole first album is a delightfully nerdy party.
We definitely all owe you a beverage nudging Kate to share the speech! She's so great. As is "eschews"! That's the sort of thing where I'd create an account and change it back, just out of spite.

Basically the first 15-20 seconds of the song!

The best feeling!!

The perfect reading setup!
How are you so good at newsletter?? Fantastic.
That's a very kind thing to say, thank you!

I’m not even a baseball fan, but I’m obsessed with all of this. Can’t wait to read your book!
Thank you!!! You don't have to be a baseball fan to enjoy the book (hopefully) but I'm also not mad if it converts you ;)

Yay, this made me even more excited for your book! The first time I ever heard Glass Animals was also at 97x NBT!
